There are many attractions within a short reach

There are numerous local attractions within easy reach. All of these listed here are within a 15-45 minute drive of the park:

  • The New Forest – Green Hill Farm is on the very edge of the 490 square miles of ancient forest and heathland where an abundance of wildlife wanders in its natural habitat. There are numerous picturesque villages and market towns within the forest, and it is a great place to explore on foot, bike or horseback. Useful New Forest information websites include:
  • Salisbury & Southampton – The cathedral city of Salisbury is within easy reach, as is the bustling city of Southampton.
  • New Forest Museum and Visitors Centre – Exhibitions that bring the forest’s history, traditions and fauna to life
  • Paultons Park – the south’s family leisure park, offering rides, museums, gardens and exotic birds. New for 2011 Peppa Pig World. (Paultons Park is 5 miles (10 minutes) from Green Hill Farm)
  • Forest Falconry - home to over 50 species of Birds of Prey, including Eagles, Owls, Hawks and Falcons. A truly memorable day, with plenty of hands on, as you help train and fly these majestic creatures. You can check availability and book online. (Forest Falconry is less than a mile away on New Road)
  • Longdown Farm – Longdown Activity farm has lots of hands-on activities every day plus indoor and outdoor play areas
  • New Forest Wildlife Park – Set in 25 acres of scenic and ancient woodland, you can see otters, owls and other indigenous wildlife in their natural surroundings (with a great kids play area)
  • Breamore House - An Elizabethan manor house close to Fordingbridge, visitors are taken back in time to a self-sufficient community
  • New Forest Water Park - The park offers water skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding and inflatable banana and tyre rides
  • Marwell Zoo - One very big and wild adventure! Home to over 200 rare and endangered species
  • Stonehenge – Visit the famous stone circle
  • Beaulieu National Motor Museum – A classic day out for all the family, visit Beaulieu Abbey, the Palace House and Gardens or Lord Montagu’s National Motor Museum
  • Moors Valley Country Park - Award winning park with play areas, model steam train, adventure play trail, tree top walk, golf course and fishing lake
  • Adventure Wonderland - Fabulous theme park aimed at younger families with rides, maze, adventure play areas and a huge indoor play centre
  • Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway - Extensive landscaped woodland gardens overlooking Beaulieu river
  • Bournemouth Oceanarium – Fantastic aquarium in Bournemouth
